IT modernization services overview
Exquitech delivers IT modernization services for organizations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and UK. We find what is running past its end of support date, price the options, then move your servers, databases, email, desktops and line of business apps onto current platforms in waves, without stopping the business.
What usually triggers the work:
- Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025
- Exchange Server 2019 support ended on 15 October 2025
- SQL Server 2016 support ended on 15 July 2026
- Windows Server 2016 support ends in January 2027
After the move, our managed IT team runs the new environment, Microsoft Azure hosts what moved to the cloud, and Modern Workplace covers the Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 side for your people.
What IT modernization covers
-
Servers and datacenters
We move Windows Server, file shares and virtual machines to Azure or newer hardware before support runs out.
-
Databases
SQL Server 2016 lost support in July 2026, so we plan the upgrade or the move to Azure SQL and test it first.
-
Email and files
Exchange Server 2019 went out of support in October 2025, so we move mailboxes and file shares to Microsoft 365.
-
Desktops
Windows 10 ended in October 2025, so we plan the Windows 11 upgrade or price Extended Security Updates year by year.
-
Security and identity
Modernization is the moment to move to Microsoft Entra sign in, conditional access and current Defender protection.
-
Line of business apps
We map ageing custom apps, then decide which to replatform, which to rebuild on Power Platform and which to retire.
How an IT modernization program runs
Plan
We agree the order of work, the budget and the dates, so every system has an owner and a target month.
Implement
We move in waves, pilot first, with a rollback plan for each wave and your users kept working throughout.
Assess
We inventory servers, apps, licenses and dependencies, then rank each one by risk, cost and business impact.
Operate
We support the new environment, retire the old one properly and track what the change actually saved.

Customer benefits
What changes once the old platforms are gone.
-
Supported again
Every system back on a supported version, which closes the finding auditors and insurers keep raising.
-
Lower running costs
Retiring old hardware, licenses and Extended Security Updates frees budget for the new setup.
-
One estate view
A live inventory of servers, apps and licenses, so the next decision starts with facts, not guesses.
-
Less manual work
Systems that connect properly remove the rekeying, exports and spreadsheets that fill your team’s week.
-
Capacity on demand
Adding a site, a brand or a country becomes a configuration change instead of a hardware order.
-
Fewer tickets
Current devices and cloud identity cut the login, VPN and performance tickets your help desk handles.
-
Time back for IT
Your IT team stops nursing old servers and spends the time on work the business actually asks for.
-
Ready for AI
Copilot and agents work once identity, data and devices are current, so AI stops waiting on the estate.

FAQ
IT modernization services move an organization off ageing technology onto current, supported platforms. At Exquitech that means an inventory of your servers, databases, email, desktops, licenses and line of business apps, a ranked plan with costs and dates, then the migration itself in waves. Some systems move to Azure or Microsoft 365, some are upgraded where they are, and some are retired.
Windows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025. Exchange Server 2019 ended on 15 October 2025. SQL Server 2016 ended on 15 July 2026. Windows Server 2016 ends in January 2027. Once a product passes its date it stops receiving security updates unless you buy Extended Security Updates, which is usually where the compliance and insurance questions start.
Extended Security Updates buy time, not a future, and they get more expensive each year. Windows 10 ESU runs for a maximum of three years for commercial customers, starting at 61 US dollars per device in year one and doubling each year after that. SQL Server 2016 ESU also runs three years, to July 2029. We price both paths per system, because for some workloads one year of ESU is the cheapest way to schedule a proper move.
No. Most programs end up hybrid. Email and files usually move to Microsoft 365, servers and databases often move to Azure, and some workloads stay on premises for latency, licensing or data residency reasons. We decide system by system, on cost and risk, rather than moving everything because it is the cloud.
We start with an assessment, so nothing is discovered halfway through. Work then runs in waves, each with a pilot group, a rollback plan and a change window agreed with you. Old systems stay available until the new one is proven, and we retire them properly once they are empty.
